min radius and soundcard input to estimate car speed from doppler effect
Audio will Doppler high, then low, as it passes. Assume it passes in a straight line, no manuevering.
Given that it's passing, can we figure out what the original sound is based on the two extremes, e.g. average them? That would assume a constant velocity, which I think is a fair assumption.
Once we have the original sound "center frequency", I think we have enough data to figure out speed just from a very short sample. Then, from that plus the rate of change as it passes by, I think we can figure out the minimum distance too, rather than using it as an input?
